dc.descriptionA brief summary is presented on the fundamental characteristics of the elastomers and the physical properties that support their capabilities to deal with a large number of problems in the building industry. The elastomers find multiple applications in the structural insulation, the anti vibratory treatments, the sealing systems and the acoustic and thermal conditioning. Representative examples of application and development of specific materials and systems are presented. A special point is reserved for elastomer recycling techniques and the possibilities for environmental valorization of practical results in building industry.en-US
dc.descriptionSe presenta un breve resumen sobre las características fundamentales de los elastómeros y las propiedades físicas que soportan sus capacidades para solucionar un gran número de problemas en la industria de la construcción. Los elastómeros encuentran aplicaciones múltiples en la desolidarización estructural (o desacoplamiento), los tratamientos anti-vibratorios, la estanqueidad y el acondicionamiento acústico y térmico. Se exponen ejemplos representativos de aplicación y de desarrollo de materiales y sistemas específicos. Un punto especial está reservado a técnicas de reciclado de elastómeros y las posibilidades de valorización medioambiental de los resultados prácticos en la construcción.es-ES
